Send us a message - we'd love to hear from you

After four years and nearly 100 episodes of exploring what it means to build trust on purpose, we're coming to you today with a different kind of conversation; one that's deeply personal and one of the hardest we've had.

Ila shares why she's stepping away from the podcast, and Charles reflects on what these four years of partnership, friendship, and shared commitment to trust have meant. This is two people who have walked each other through profound conversations about vulnerability, care, and what it means to show up authentically, now navigating a significant transition together.

We built this community believing that trust is something we choose to cultivate intentionally, especially in moments of uncertainty and change. Today, we're living that truth.

We talk about what we've learned from each other, from our guests, and from you, our listeners, who have been part of this journey. We share what Ila will carry forward from this work, and how Charles will continue the conversations about trust in new ways.

This episode is about gratitude. It's about honouring what has been while making space for what needs to come next. It's about trusting the process, even when it's not the one we would have chosen.

Thank you for being part of our story. Thank you for trusting us with yours.

With deep appreciation and love, Charles & Ila

We want to thank the team that continues to support us in producing, editing and sharing our work. Jonah Smith for the heartfelt intro music you hear at the beginning of each podcast. We LOVE it. Hillary Rideout for writing descriptions, designing covers and helping us share our work on social media. Chad Penner for his superpower editing work to take our recordings from bumpy and glitchy to smooth and easy to listen to episodes for you to enjoy. From our hearts, we are so thankful for this team and the support they provide us.

Four Years Of Gratitude

Speaker

Hi everyone, it's Ila. To our beautiful listeners who have been with us for 97 episodes. Charles, oh my gosh, do you remember those first few that we recorded? We had so much to learn. We had bumps and touch glitches. The awkwardness of those first few recordings. We can certainly laugh about it now. But it sure wasn't fun being a beginner. But somewhere between that and now, we figured it out. Over four years together, we've recorded so many conversations and connected with so many wonderful casts. Charles, you invited me to think. You definitely made me laugh. You asked me questions I wasn't expecting, and then patiently waited while I found my way to an answer. Thank you for the gift of being your trusted partner for the last four years. My heartfelt thanks to Hilary and Chad for your countless hours filled with love and care. You both put so much into every episode. Jonah, your music is forever imprinted in my heart. The perfect start and finish to every episode. To all of you who listened, thank you for bringing us into your commutes, into your walks, into your Tuesday mornings. You're never just an audience. You're part of our conversation. You're a part of our hearts. And now I'm handing the mic over to Charles. As for me, it's time to rest. I'm sending you so much love. From my heart to yours.

More To Come

I do remember how we fumbled our way into podcasting together. The bumps and glitches and oopsies. In my memory, though, we figured it out pretty darn quickly. Not that we ever got completely beyond the occasional oops. I believe we were able to do that because we trusted each other so strongly. I never considered that you weren't bringing your best to what we were doing. I hope that was true for you as well. We inspired each other. We invited each other to dig deeply into each topic and challenged ourselves to make it both personal and universal. I'm so grateful for four years of wonderful, fun, enlightening conversations about the many aspects of trust that we took on. And wow, did we have some great guests join us for some of our episodes? People who brought perspectives we hadn't even considered. Whether we were talking with a guest or just with each other, we laughed a lot, we cried. And I can say I was often in awe of the thoughts and perspectives you brought up. I've learned so much from you, not just from the thoughts and ideas you offered, though, but from witnessing your wonderful way of being in the world, how you expressed warmth, were so deeply honest, spoke with compassion, and showed up with joy. Even when I know you were suffering from the side effects of the King's Agreements. I will be taking the Trust on Purpose podcast forward on my own Sun. It will feature conversations with amazing guests, including some you and I interviewed before. The theme will continue to be trust in all its aspects. What it takes to build, maintain, and trust in all areas of our lives, including work, personal relationships, and society. I imagine I'm pretty sure it's going to be a bit weird at first without you, Eva. And I look forward to building on the legacy of our four years and 98 episodes. Our partnership has been one of the best in my life. A fantastic ride. So grateful to have shared it with you and with our listeners. Keep listening. There's more to come.
